ACS-Media Arts, End of Year Showcase, Virtual Curation
As Chair of the ACS-Media Arts program at Woodbury University, I developed a virtual gallery to curate the exhibition of all student work produced during the pandemic year of 2020-2021. The basis for the space was a former gallery in Hollywood. I altered the space by introducing animated .glb models from a variety of student projects. The floor came from a thesis student’s forest fire simulation, and the models came from a variety of courses across the curriculum. The virtual walls of the gallery host videos of student work along with text based tags. The gallery and installation were designed and built in Rhinoceros 3D and Blender and exported to Mozilla hubs as an animated .glb model. Mozilla hubs was used to create a multi-player virtual exhibition on-line in which students, faculty, and staff circulated through in a variety of avatars.
