The Stereotomic primer is an illustrated text that distills and expands upon the drawing processes of Guarino Guarini. It attempts to not only translate his techniques and methods, but also speculate on potentials for deploying them outside of their original framework. The focus of the work is on the discrete adaptation and modification of the stereotomic process at the detail level. Guarini’s methods are demonstrated through a process that focuses on the malleability of its rule sets, asking students not only to acquire but also to manufacture methods specific to their individual projects and interests.
